Why did i choose my major?
Since I was a kid I really liked history. I remember that I spent it watching programs like "Algo habrán hecho por la historia de Chile" that passed through the TVN channel. I supposed that from that moment i dreamed of studying something related to history.
When I was in high school, I was very indecisive, but I had two more or less clear paths: Arqueology or Historiography. However, it was also at this stage that I became deeply interesed in politics and currents affairs. I liked to see programs like "Tolerancia Cero" or "Mentiras Verdaderas" where there was a lot of talk about currents affairs in the country. I heard about the career of Political Science, and it interested me enormously.
Even with these doubts I did the PTU, but luckily, my score was very good and I was enough for any of the three careers I wanted to study. Finally, I decided to study Political Science since I had better job opportunities than the other two. However, I plan to study Archeology in the future.
Currently I would not know what to say about my experience since it is my first year. It's fun and every day I learn a lot of new things.
I liked to watch on TV "Tolerancia Cero" too, mostly in the past with the old panelists (Villegas, Paulsen, del Río). Also "Algo habrán hecho por la historia de Chile" is very fun and didactic, I watched it at primary school, and Francisco Melo's work in the series is superb.
